About Fin Garden
Fin Garden is one of gardens in Kashan in where Fin bath is also located. This place regards as a location that Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (king) killed Amir Kabir. He was in charge of king’s prime ministry in 1852 B.C. Based on some proofs Shah Abass Safavid era’s artists built this historical and ancient place. Fin Garden has an extent of 23 thousand square meters. It also has an interior yard that surrounds by cylindrical towers and walls. In comparison with other Iranian gardens, there is plenty of water supply in this one. This historical garden is one of the most favorite sites among visitors in Isfahan in a way that it was the most visited heritage site in Isfahan during 2018 and 2019 Iranian new year (Nowruz).
You can visit Fin Garden and the buildings inside it in Fin Garden, Kashan. This masterpiece is one of national monuments with the registry number of 238 from 7December 7th of 1935. Global organization of UNESCO has registered this place recently as well. Like Monar Jonban, this heritage attracts many visitors from all around the globe each year.
Based on some historical evidences, Fin garden has been constructed during Buyid dynasty. Some evidences argue that there was a huge earthquake in 1573 B.C which leaded to a comprehensive destruction of the garden. Old garden is the name of the rest of garden after the earthquake which is 100 meters far from New garden. Ilkhanate architectures extended the old garden mostly. By the way, Shah Abbas the Great is the person whom current Fin Garden is attributed to. Iran cultural heritage has introduced Ghiyāth al-Din Jamshīd al-Kāshānī as the garden creator, some universities resources argue that the designer is Sheikh Baha’I though.
The construction and evolution of Fin Garden continued to Shah Safi and Shah Abbas II and culminated. The decorations of the entrance door heads, Safavid Belvedere and one bathroom are the result of endeavors in this era.
During Fath-Ali Shah Qajar dominance, architectures add many parts to the garden’s structure. After his death, they abandoned taking care of trees in the garden in a way that even some parts of garden destroyed. When this heritage joined national registration records 70 years ago, taking care of garden became more crucial. During Pahlavi dominance, they built Kashan National Museum on the remain of Nezam-O-Dole privacy room. There was also another structure between library and bathrooms. They repaired the other constructions too. The main cause of last unrecoverable damages to the garden is Mismanaging and ignorance in current years.
At the same time with Fin Garden national registration in 1935, at first menders started to repair the main pool. In 1957 one place with the name of Nezam-O-Dole privacy room that was entirely ruined, restructured again and National museum recorded it. Repairmen started Mending of the other buildings of the garden such as Belvederes in 1979.
The rest of covering floor efforts, preparing a file of pathology plan and green coverage treatment of Fin Garden, the output water of ponds organization and channeling streams inside the garden, mending the door head, removing collapses and making ceiling for Safavid Belvedere happened in 2008. In addition, installing surveillance cameras as well as building ceiling for western side of the garden and organizing channels for water were done.
UNESCO registered this heritage in 2010 and after that instructed to have some changes in cobblestone and garden’s pavements.
